During the past six years, archaeologists and volunteers of Jornada Research Institute have discovered archaeological remains in Tularosa Canyon that require reconsidering the previous 70 years of archaeological interpretations of the early Jornada Mogollon. Discoveries have included great kivas, irrigation systems, terraced agricultural features, reservoirs, and villages ranging between AD 600 and 850. David Greenwald is the President of Jornada Research Institute and Director of the Tularosa Canyon Research Program.
This event is included with regular museum admission. As always, Ruidoso Downs residents are only $1. This event is also generously sponsored by Friends of the Hubbard Museum of the American West.
