Annual Festival of Lights Cancelled

The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Festival of Lights with a new twist! Scheduled for December 5, 2020 the parade will be REVERSED this year to give families a safe way to enjoy the beloved holiday tradition. The 2020 event theme is “A Season of Unity in the Community”.

Adhering to COVID safe practices, the reverse Festival of Lights parade will feature stationary floats while spectators can drive by and enjoy the lights. To ensure event participant safety, floats and displays will be 18 feet apart and spectators will remain in their vehicles. 

The parade will be held in the Ruidoso Convention Center parking lot (111 Sierra Blanca Drive, Ruidoso NM 88345) from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 5th. This event is free to attend. If you would like to participate with a float, applications to enter your own display are available at the Chamber of Commerce.

The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Toys for Tots and asks attendees to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Festival of Lights parade. Toys for Tots will have a float to collect toys during the parade.

Since it will be a drive-through parade, traffic will be one way, entering off of Mechem Drive into the Convention Center parking lot at the Sierra Blanca Drive stoplight. All spectators must be in a vehicle. No foot traffic permitted. View event details and float applications on the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce website.
