No Shortage of Ruidoso Romance on Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day. A day of love and – if you’re not prepared for it – abject terror. Particularly if you haven’t made plans or even gotten flowers for your loved one.
Well, residents and visitors to Ruidoso still have plenty to choose from when it comes to celebrating this day of love, so don’t panic. Below we have put together a guide of some great ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day!
• Besides flowers and balloons, candy is easily the most popular gift on this celebration of love which dates back to the Middle Ages. Sabor in Midtown has gone one step further, selling baskets of chocolate covered strawberries, candles and other things your loved one might like.
In fact, Valentine’s Day in Ruidoso serves as Sabor’s “Black Friday,” the day upon which the entire financial year hinges.
“We’ve sold a lot of strawberries, and we haven’t even hit our peak ordering time,” said Elda Herrera, owner of Sabor. “I’m expecting a lot more orders from Friday through Sunday. We usually do most of our business in the three days leading up to Valentine’s Day.” Sabor’s biggest seller are milk chocolate strawberries, with white and dark chocolate berries just behind.
Herrera said she also offers berries with coconut, chocolate chips, decorated apples and fudge. “There’s a wide variety of things to add to the basket, it doesn’t have to be just on Valentine’s Day,” Herrera said. “But this is always the biggest week for us. Last year – with Valentine’s Day on a Saturday – we had a fantastic weekend. I don’t expect this year to be any different.”
With free delivery Friday through Sunday, you can expect your gifts to be there on time. Call 630-0070 or visit Sabor at 2501 Sudderth Dr. to make your order.
