We love to support our local business owners in Ruidoso and what better day to spotlight a few than on Small Business Saturday?
Small Busiess Saturday was created by credit card giant American Express in 2010 to shine light on the small businesses around the country. From family-run bookstores, to small coffee shops and bakeries, to fashion boutiques and outdoor supply shops, supporting locals all over is something in this season (especially) we can all get behind to promote and support.
So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite small businesses in Ruidoso. We also suggest taking a stroll down Sudderth and Mechem to discover some new favorites of your own!
Women’s Clothing Shops
25th in Mid – This little shop in Midtown is a staple in the area. They have super cute, trendy clothing and accessory options as well as some cute gifts! We love their southwestern and boho style pieces and unique adorable t-shirts! This year they are celebrating SBS with tax free shopping, and 50-75% sale racks!
Cattilac Style and Cattilac Southwest – If your style is southwestern, the Cattilac stores have great options for clothing, jewelry and decor! They are celebrating with tax free shopping this year!
Rustic Diva’s – Again with some beautiful boho and southwestern styles (and fun tanks!) Rustic Diva’s is a cute little shop with great options.
Outdoor Gear Shops
Nomad – They have some awesome t-shirts as well as some of your favorite brand of shoes (or they will be!) Sanuk, backpacks, etc. They also have some super cool recycled sunglasses that were featured on Shark Tank called PROOF. This store has got style and comfort at every turn.
Happy Hiker– This store has lovely, friendly owners, but also any outdoor gadget and gear you could need here in the Sierra Blancas. They are also a wealth of knowledge about local trails (hence the name). Don’t forget to check out their love locks wall with that special someone!
Brunells, Inc – Brunells has been a go-to shop since 1946. This family run store has become a mainstay in the heart of Midtown with women’s and men’s clothing, shoes and outdoor gear. They are connected to Nomad (see above). You can easily spend hours in this connection of shops.
Galleries and Souvenir Shops
Mountain Arts Gallery and Framing – This store has tons of beautifully handcrafted fine arts pieces from paintings to metal artwork to pottery. All exemplify southwestern and western style.
Galleria West – Like many local shops in Ruidoso, this one is family run and has beautiful hand made jewelry and art pieces that make perfect gifts for those you love. The shop owner can tell you the story of where most pieces they sell come from as they buy direct from local artisans in the area.
Ruidoso Trading Post – This place is fun for the kiddos! They have tons to look at and lots of souvenir/gifts. Don’t miss the side of their building with the Ruidoso mural!
Treat Yourself
Old Barrel Tea Company – All the tea, honey and cute decor you could want! They have custom blends of loose leaf tea, all the accessories you want/need for brewing, spices and raw unfiltered honey.
Candle Power – If you’re a candle lover, you are bound to find your ideal scent at this shop. Their name says it all!
22 Bath and Body – This store will hit you with glorious scents as soon as you walk in! They have tons of great products that they are very knowledgable about if you have any questions. Also, check out their awesome visitor maps! They have pins for all their visitors to mark where they are from! Super fun.
